Witches:    There are two main varieties of witches.  The Natural Witch and the Learned Witch. A natural witch is one who was born with their powers, normally into a family of witches. A Learned Witch is a person, normally a human, who studies through books or teachers how to tap into abilities they otherwise wouldn't possess. Natural magic doesn't require spoken words, ingredients or tools.Their power comes from within them, and it is a matter of the witches 'strength' and willpower to use it. However, different witches and witch families have developed different ways to 'access' their magic and many have developed 'spells'... a set way of teaching from one generation to another. While almost all witches used these 'spells', they are not something that can be taught to a non-family member, since it's just a 'mind game' learned to access their power easier. A Learned Witch however, needs to use tools, potions, charms and such in order to call up their power, as it resides outside themselves. There are some Natural Witches who have managed to combine their magic with 'learned' magic, but they are rare and generally shunned by Natural Witches. Learned Witches however tend to revere them.There are however many witches who have combined herbal 'magic' and such with their own powers. Indeed, almost all families have their 'healing draughts' and what not. Some families consider this unacceptable merging of magics, but most have accepted it as the norm.
