Regan

She pushed her white blonde hair behind and picked up her tray, after emptying it of glasses and turned her eyes on the pub's empty interior. Empty except for the red head in the corner, smoking a cigarette. Regan frowned, wondering how he'd escaped her notice thus far, as feminine as he looked. She'd had to do a double take just to make sure it wasn't some girl. Then there was the black collar under the collar of the white trench coat he was wearing.

Regan leaned on the bar, near where Mike was wiping it down. "How long's he been there?" She asked the bar tender with a nod of her head.

Mike glanced into the corner. "Most've the night, hasn't been a problem and hasn't been drinkin' all that much. Mostly just sits there, smokin'." Mike glanced at Regan. "Looks like it's another admit tee to the broken hearts club..."

Regan shook her head, bemused. "I'll go see if he qualifies." She picked up her empty tray and crossed the floor, her heeled wedges clicking on the floor. She stopped at his table. "Need another drink, handsome?" She asked softly, reaching for the empty glass.

He touched her hand before it reached the glass, with the hand that held the cigarette. "Nah, thank you." He answered softly with out looking up.

Regan withdrew her hand slowly and regarded the pretty boy, before she slipped into the chair opposite of him, resting her tray on the chair next to her and leaned back slightly in the chair, crossing her arms over her chest, her head tilted to the side. "Wanna talk about it?" She asked.

Her intrusion into his little corner got him to raise his head to look at her and she was taken back slightly by the very feminine and beautiful liquid green eyes. He took a drag from the cigarette with full lips. Regan knew girls who would kill to look as attractive as this boy did. She raised an eyebow puffing a lock of hair from her face, looking at the inverted tear drop tattoos under both eyes. "Boyfriend problems?" She asked.

He snorted tapping the ashes off his cigarette. "I'm bi, not gay." He replied, taking another drag.

"Girl friend problems?" Regan inquired. "Come on kid, I run the broken hearts club round here, you can tell me anything." She prompted.

"I'm not having relationship problems." He replied simply, finishing off his glass.

Regan leaned back in her seat and waved at Mike who brought over two more pints. Regan didn't mind sharing a drink. "So then what?"

"Anyone ever tell you, you were nosey?" He asked, but it wasn't a prat question and Regan was a bit amused by it.

"Look, we closed an hour ago. And Mike only lets those he thinks has a problem stick around to finish their drink...or buy them another one..." Regan said, gesturing to the second pint as she picked up her own.

"Do you have a name, saint lady?" He asked amused.

Regan laughed, trying not to spill her brew or get it's head over the pretty young man sitting across from her."Regan. You?"

"Lexine." He answered.

Regan faked a grimace. "Yeah, I think I can see the problem..." She remarked teasingly. Actually the name was quiet charming on him.

"Can you?" He challenged playfully.

"Are you a drag queen?" Regan asked simply.

It was Lexine's turn to laugh in to his drink, and he sat his tankard down rather then spill it and picked up his cigarette from the ashtray. "If only my appearance could be explained so simply. Alas, no."

"You just unfortunately look so damn feminine, I know girls who would kill to look so good..." Regan replied.

"Sadly, yes." Lexine answered, taking another drag.

"Okay, I can see where that's a problem." Regan nodded.

Lexine chuckled, amused. "That's not the problem..."

"You're no help, what so ever, you know that, Lexine?" Regan asked incredulously, in reply.

"Very well..." Lexine nodded, taking a drink.

"Ah..." Regan said, holding up a finger as she sat her tankard down. "Friend problems."

"Somethin' like that." Lexine answered with a nod.

"They all said you were gay?" Regan inquired.

Lexine shook his head. "This is a lost friend problem..." He answered softly.

"Oh, they broke the friendship with you?"

"Sorta..." Lexine answered. "In a bad sorta way."

"Well in these areas, I can only say, it's their lose." Regan said softly, taking another drink and watching the red head before her.

"If only it were that simple..." Lexine said softly, looking out the window for a moment. Then he stood, taking a few bank notes from his pocket and peeling a couple off, dropping them on the table. "Thanks for the drink..and the peep talk, Regan." He said with a warm smile, before thrusting his hands in his pockets and heading for the door.

Regan took another drink, and turned in her seat. "Hey Lexine?" She called out, stopping him. "You live aroud here, kid?"

"Not far, why?" He asked, looking back at her.

"If you can wait ten, I'd be glad to walk you home." She said with an encouraging smile.

Lexine smiled wearily, but shook his head. "Thanks, but no thanks, I'll be fine." With that, he pushed out into the night.

Regan sat there, leaning on her chair for a moment, frowning slightly. Then she got up, picking up her tray and heading over to the bar where Mike was counting the money. She dropped what Lexine had left on his pile, which he just added to the rest, and leaned on the bar. "Somethin' strange about that one..." Mike said with out looking up.

"Uh...I don't know...he seemed more...lost than anything..." Regan replied.

"Like those lost puppies, yer mother's always warnin' ya about..." Mike said with a look.

Regan smirked slightly. "No...you know, one of those eternally haunted, and beautiful youths..." She assumed an intellectual poise.

"Yeah, sure, wha' ever." Mike replied. "He's a drag queen and he's gay, I bet ya."

Regan was forced to laugh, but shook her head. "No, I don't think so..." And she didn't think she'd seen the last of this Lexine either.
