The House
by Miss Frost, Ruex & Skye
 Chapter One
"Its nice
t' know they make survalence vans so comfortable now..." Xander
muttered from his seat, before some one kicked him in the shin. "OW!"
He rounded in his seat to glare at the red head who was glaring right
back.
The red head started to open his mouth, but some one
beat him to the punch. "Ya know, really, YOU were TOLD NOT to come."
Aiyla said from her spot on the floor board. "But you didn't listen, so
you have ONLY yourself to blame, Lexine."
Lex rolled his eyes,
he was sitting on the floor between the two front seats, leaning
against the passanger's seat where Faal was. Auron was sitting in the
driver's seat, Chaos was leaning against the his seat from behind, both
watching the old house across the field.
Chaos turned
slightly, to reguard the others, Xander was right, the van was roomy.
But roomy counted for nothing when Aiyla, Eire, Nate and Xander kept at
it. "You know, technically not all of you were needed for this stake
out, but seeing as how you're all involved in the investigation.
Just...stop the bitching." She said with a look.
All five
looked realitively sheepish, and when Chaos turned her back on them,
leaning back on Auron's seat, Aiyla kicked Xander. Xander reached
around for something and threw his paper back at her, which she
returned. Eire was trying not to snicker his ass off, and Nate grabbed
Aiyla to keep her from lunging after the book followed.
Lex
did his best to ignore them, and felt two arms slip around his waist,
before pulling him up gently on the passanger's seat. Lex leaned back
against Faal, staring out the window.
Across the way, was an
old victorian house, run down and abandoned. They were in a black van
parked in an a place where it would have been realtively impossible to
be spotted. They were on a stack out, tracking some very`mean nasty
thing they weren't quiet sure of, but they'd all been working the case,
even Lex who'd insisted on it.
The other five settled down in
the back, Xander and Eire actually decided to play cards, since the St.
Patrick's Day party, they weren't always so much at odds with each
other. Still had their moments, but were obviously making an effort.
Nate and Aiyla were cuddled in one seat, talking softly.
Auron
had managed to ingore them for the most part, focusing on the job
rather then the juvenials in the back. But he had to smirk at Chaos'
short lecture. But after being here most of the night, he was starting
to wonder if anything was going to happen. He glanced at his watch, to
see that it was 11:58 pm. He frowned slightly, turning his eyes back to
the house.
"Man, I hope this doesn't turn out t' be one o'
those bloody mary cases..." Eire suddenly said from his spot, shuffling
the cards.
Lex turned his head from looking out the window,
and leaning against Faal to look at Eire with a raised eyebrow. "Bloody
mary cases?"
Aiyla snorted. "Female ghouls who quiet vengeful." She answered.
"One track minds too." Eire added. "They're usually out t' kill ye, which means ya have t' kill them first."
"And they're fuckin' hard t' kill." Xander put in.
Lex stared at them.
"Ignore 'em Lex, they're jus' tryin' t' scare ye." Nate said rolling his eyes.
"Considering
how many of us there are, I doubt we'd have much problem if that be the
case." Auron finally spoke, glancing back at them. Aiyla and Nate
snickered. Auron looked up at Chaos and curled a finger for her to come
closer. "Cheerful group, aren't they?" He muttered, with a slight smirk
as she bent over the seat.
Chaos chuckled and shook her head. She shot a
glance back at them. "This is going way better then I'd thought... I
try to never have this many of my people in one vehicle at a time... I
try to never have this many on a stake out ever... especailly certain
individuals who shall remain nameless..." she said glancing towards
Nate and Eire. She turned back to Auron. "They are behaving themselves
remarkably well."
"How reassuring." Faal said wryly from his seat and Lex giggled.
She
smirked. "That's right... I forgot.. this is Faal's first time out.
Don't worry Faal.. Auron and I will try to cover your ass as much as we
can.. as the cherry, you're the one most liable to be bait."
Lex choked on a giggle at Faal expression. "Cherry?"
"It's your first time.. " Lex said with a gigle, blushing fiercely.
Chaos turned back to Auron with a chuckle and stole a kiss before squatting down between the seats.
"Scuse me.. comin' through.." Nate said as he disentagled himself from Aiyla and made his way to the door. "Be right back."
"Where are you going?" Faal asked over his shoulder.
"Take a piss.. as comfey as th' van is.. it ain't got a lou."
Chaos
chuckled and shook her head as Nate quietly closed the door. A moment
latter it was jerked back open and he slipped back in. "Damn, that was
fast! "
"We got somethin'." He said leaning over the front
seats. and pointing out Faal's window. "Over in th' trees there..
there'a light movin'."
Lex also noticed something else, he leaned over
Faal, a hand on his chest, toward the window which was cracked open,
not looking at the light, because his head was turned so he could hear.
"Where?! I don't see nothin'!" Eire grumbled from a back window.
"Shut up, Eire." Lex hissed. Eire turned to look at Lex with a raised eyebrow.
"Wha?"
"Just be quiet! Everyone for just a second." Lex snapped. Then Eire realized.
"There's no sound. Nothin'. No wind, no crickets, no night sounds..." Eire muttered.
"But the trees..." Aiyla nodded to the branches of the trees moving.
"There's no wind..." Eire repeated.
Lex
sat back slightly, turning his eyes to watch the light, which bobbed up
and down amung the trees a moment, before starting to move off. It took
Lex a moment to realize it wasn't a flash light, but an old lantern and
some one was behind holding it.
"Shall we flip a coin?" Eire muttered.
"Who'd be the most likely to investigate it with out being seen or heard?" Auron asked from his spot.
Several
fingers suddenly pointed at Faal. Faal raised an eyebrow as he noticed
the fingers pointed at him. "Should I take that as a compliment, or am
I being set up...?"
"Hey, everyone's gotta pull their weight at some point." Chaos replied with a slight smirk.
"In
other words, I have no choice..." Faal replied with a look. Chaos just
shrugged, still smirking slightly. Faal rolled his eyes and opened the
door, getting out.
Lex moved to follow. "I'm coming too." He said.
"Lex!" Aiyla groaned, making a snatch for the red head's arm.
"Lex, just stay put." Faal replied.
Lex
pulled away from Aiyla and gave him a look. "I'm coming with you,
final." He hissed. Aiyla still attempted to keep him in the van, when
Auron's hand touched her shoulder.
"Let him." Auron muttered. Aiyla sighed and let Lex get out.
Chaos turned to Eire and Nate and nodded for them to follow as Lex followed Faal toward the woods and the ball of light.
Lex
turned the collar of his jacket up, as he followed Faal, following the
light which was a head by several hundred yards. The unnerving thing
was, it seemed to stop every so often as if to make sure they were
following. Lex shivered involuntarily.
The light was weaving
it's way through dense trees and bush on a rather old path that had
mostly grown over. Still, here and there, one could tell it was a path
to somewhere.

Chapter Two
Somewhere turned up to be a very old cemetary.
From behind a large tree trunk they noticed the figure with the lantern
moving toward a grave. It paused in front a stone in the middle of the
old graveyard and seemed to linger, leaning over the stone.
While
Faal was watching the figure, Lex glanced about, noticing what Aiyla
had, the trees were moving, but there was no wind, and no sound of
their movement. And he had that distinct feeling that something was in
the trees watching them.
Or two something's perhaps, cause
something was in the trees moving toward the van. Chaos had taken
Faal's abandon seat, watching with Auron. Aiyla was now kneeling
between the seats. And even Xander was paying attention.
Aiyla suddenly looked up. She had a strange feeling something was over top of them.
"What's up?" Xander muttered.
Aiyla
waved him off, her other hand going to her holster. At that moment,
something slammed onto the roof of the van, and a set of talons
protuded through, rather trying to tear the roof off...
Xander fell backwards off his seat, with a yelp as the talons ripped and tore at the roof. "What the fuck?!"
Aiyla
already opened fire on what ever it was. And a sword pointed slammed up
wards as well, She glanced out of the corner of her eye to see it was
Auron's sword.
An eerie scream came and suddenly the talons
were gone, and there was nothing on the roof of the van. Auron was
already getting out, with his sword and Aiyla scrambled over his seat
to follow, Chaos getting out of the passanger's seat.
Xander
stared at the roof a moment, before scrambling up and out of the
passanger's door before Chaos closed it. They all turned to look up at
the van, where they could see nothing other then the damage done to the
roof.
Aiyla turned her eyes to the trees and thought she saw
something. She was intent on focusing when Xander's hand suddenly made
her jump. "WHAT?!" She hissed. Xander nodded toward the house.
Aiyla
turned to look, along with Chaos and Auron. There was something very
large, almost snake or lizard like, slithering across the field, from
near the house, toward them. Aiyla drew her other gun. "Well, that's a
new one..." She muttered, her sight already trained on it.
** Eire thought he heard gun fire, but his focus was following Nate as they trailed after Faal and Lex.
They
reached the tree, just as the figure with the lantern vanished and Faal
was already moving forward to investigate the grave stone it had
stopped at.
"'ello." Eire said to Lex with a smirk. "We came as back up."
Lex
snorted, but smirked slightly, half his attention on Faal, the other
half on the trees. Something was definitely watching and even Eire
picked up on it, his nose twitching. He gave a soft growl, eyeing the
trees.
There was a sudden ungodly roar of wind, and something
soared out of the trees toward the grave stones. "Lex ye idiot!" Eire
growled, making a snatch at Lex's arm as Lex started to sprinted toward
the grave stones and Faal. Lex however evaided his grasp.
The thing was big, with wings and looked as ugly as sin and was about to attack as it rounded about to dive at Faal and Lex.
Faal spun at Eire's shout and grabbed Lex,
throwing them both to the ground in a rolling dive as he threw a shield
of light up at the thing coming at them.
He heard a shriek as
whatever it was barely skimmed over them and veered off over the
cemetary. As soon as it was past, he scrambled to his feet, pulling Lex
up with him just as Eire and Nate skidded to their side. "What was
that?" Faal asked, his voice sounding rather calm despite things.
Nate
grabbed Lex's arm and tugged. "I didnae get a good enough look , t'
tell.. an ' I don't care t' hang around at th' moment.. gentlemen .. i
suggest we head back t' th' van now.."
Faal nodded as he kept
watch behind them. Eire suddenly stopped. "Shite.. I did hear gunshots
before.. I can smell it now... I suggest we hurry."
The sound of
a shriek behind them sent them all runnning back through the trees
towards the van, Nate and eire firing behind them as they went.
"I
think I perfer my office, thank you very much, gentlemen... I've had my
share of 'adventure' in my life.. I really didn't thin that after
almost two thousand years i'd stil be running through forests at night
being pursued by monsters..."
"It's a little late to be complaining." Lex
muttered, aware of several things at once. One, what ever was behind
them was something completely different then the thing that tryed to
attack them in the cemetary. Two, there was still no noise, no nothing,
except the feeling of forboding and being followed. Three was the fact
that there was more gun fire from up head, back at the van.
Chapter Three
They picked up speeding, running back toward the
van, intime to hear another report of gun fire. Coming out into the
clearing, they were in time to see something very big and snake like
slither past the group, back toward the house as Xander and Aiyla took
shots at it.
They skidded to a halt next to the van as the
creature vanished around the side of the house. At the same instant
there was a sudden bright flash of lightening and a loud pearl of
thunder that was very unexpected and only succeded in causing Lex to
start with a squeak. The lightening however illuminated something
behind the old house.
An even bigger house...set up on a hill.
"That wasn't there before..." Aiyla muttered. Another flash of
lightening showed the creature was slithering toward it and for a
moment, Eire thought he saw the winged creature heading toward it as
well.
"Well our nasties seem t' be makin' fer it..." He said, glancing at the group. They all knew of course what that meant.
With out a word, Auron and Chaos moved back toward the back of the van, Aiyla on their heels. "Get ready people." Chaos said.
"Oo, looks like we're hoofin' it..." Xander muttered.
Auron
pulled a rolled canvas duffle from the back and knelt, undoing the
buckles and unrolling it. There were several different types of guns,
swords and knives.
"Whoa...' Eire let out a whistle. "Damn, I didn't know you had all that." He said.
Auron
smirked slightly from his place. "I don't like to be caught off
guard...and some times there are only things a gun can take care of in
my experience." He replied.
Aiyla snickered, as she worked at
the back of the van. She handed out two way radios to everyone. "In the
case we get seperated." She said. "Everyone make sure they're on the
same frenquency."
"If by the chance we do have to split, no one by themselves. ESPEICALLY Lex." Chaos said, giving the red head alook.
Lex glanced slight wide eyed, then gave a look in return.
Xander
realized suddenly, this was his first real job with the group. "Really,
what's the worst that could go wrong?" Eire asked, sitting his raido.
"OW!" Lex had smacked him.
"You just JINXED everything!" Lex hissed with a dark look.
"I didn't jinx it!" Xander growled.
"You jinxed it!" Lex shot back.
"Stop
arguing." Auron said calmly, standing from his spot with the kit bag. He
gave them both a look. Xander shuffled his feet, checked his raido and
gave Lex a look.
Lex just returned it. Once everyone was
ready, they began the treck across the field, past the house and up the
hill toward the OTHER house.
Emerging from a dence woods, Xander paused and looked back. Then blinked. He couldn't see the field or the other house. "Uh..."
"What?" Aiyla muttered.
Xander shook his head. "Nothin'...cept I don't see where we came from."
Aiyla
looked back and raised an eyebrow, noticing the same thing. "Hey,
guys..." she got everyone else's attention. "There's something not
right here..."
"Well it's t' late now..." Eire muttered with a
sigh. He glanced around and saw a path off to the left, toward a large
wroth iron gate. Another path led to a stone arch way and toward the
out garden. "Well I imagine that gate is locked, so...guess through
there's the only way." he nodded.
Xander unconsciously kept
looking over his shoulder and Aiyla shot him an amused look.Xander
smirked at her sheepishly. Eire kept turning his head from side to
side, listening intently to the surrounding walls and garden paths.
There were dogs barking fiercely at something. Eire's nose kept
twitching with an unusual scent and he began to growl.
They
stopped and Chaos turned partly to Eire, eyeing him. Eire moved forward
past the others, still growling, eyes scanning. They were at a T way,
one path leading toward a closed off area, the other path going around
a corner.
Then there was the sound of breaking chains and two
rotty dogs came running past them, chasing after something. They just
ran right past the group as if not even seeing them.
Eire
itched to chase after them and find out what it was that had their
attentions, but Lex snatched at his arm, stopping him from going any
further.
Chaos rolled her shoulders, feeling the
comforting pressure of her harness straps holding her swords. It was a
new design that she really loved working with. She was equally fine
with or without wings.. which was good, because right now she felt like
changing to full demon. And she stretched her wings, she did a quick
check of all four blades to make sure they were all clear. The sheaths
were arranged in such a way the two thin sword pulled over the
shouders, and two pulled down. Right now, she grabbed one of each and
pulled them free.
Faal had a hold of Lex's hand, and had a gun drawn and ready in his free hand.
There
was a high pitched yiping, then a horrendous screaming from one of the
dogs. Chaos exchanged glances with Auron and the whole group seemed to
freeze at the same time and swallow hard, followed by the sound of a
great many guns being cocked.
Chapter Four
They moved cautiously around the corner and came
to a large stone stair case. At the bottom of the stair case before
them, lay a mutilated dog. Something bigger had obviously tore it up.
Eire growled, baring his teeth, he could smell, and hear something at
the top of the stairs, he was itching to chase after.
"Eire, don't." Aiyla hissed, grabbing his arm.
"Everyone just proceed with caution." Chaos said softly.
"Well
I don't think you really have to tell us that..." Lex muttered,
stepping closer to Faal. Unlike the others, he hadn't even bothered to
bring either of his 9mm. he just didn't care to use them that much.
However, he had a single chakrum brandished at his side.
Something
from the top of the stairs growled and Eire couldn't take any more. He
changed, and was about to bound up the stairs, snarling and growling
right back.
Both Aiyla and Nate lunged at the same time, catching the silver wolf, trying to hold him back.
Xander tossed Aiyla something and Aiyla caught
the leather leash, clipping it around Eire's neck as Nate got a better
hold on the wolf. What ever was at the top of the stairs hissed as well
as growled but didn't come down, instead everyone got the feeling it
turned and fled.
"This is not the time or place for this, Eire..." Aiyla growled, holding the leash as Nate held the wolf around the shoulders.
There was another pearl of thunder that made Lex jump, and the flash of lightening illuminated the over run garden around them.
Then
came another growl, this one behind them. Xander and Auron both turned
as a dog came bounding out of the darkness toward them, this one
definitely noticing and on the verge of attack. Xander suddenly noticed
it's ribs were exposed on one side. He grimaced.
Auron opened
fire and after three shots, the dog dropped. Xander toed it over and
sure enough most of it's rib cage was exposed.
"What could do that to these dogs?" Aiyla muttered, while Nate convinced Eire to change back.
"Don't ask that kind of question..." Xander muttered. "Its not a healthy question to ask."
Chaos slipped around Eire and nodded to Nate and
Aiyla. "Are you two going to be able to hold him?" Nate gave a smirk
and half shrug. Aiyla snorted. "Yeah, we've got him..." Chaos nodded
and advanced slowly up the stairs, the others stretching out beneath
her, Auron bringing up the rear. A part her hated him being so far
away.. she turned her attention back to the moment, breilfy noticing
how tighty Lex was holding onto Faal's hand and how the red head jumped
at every crack of thunder..
Eire snapped and snarled, lunging up
the stairs, dragging Nate and Aiyla a few steps upwards before they
managed to get control of him again.
Xander sighed, looking
upwards past her then back down past Auron. "Oh.. this is so not
good... I am really really happy that I'm not a horror movie fan.. I'd
be getting all sorts of ideas about what's waiting for us up there
right now.."
Lords Xander, MUST you!?" Lex hissed, giving him a look.
Xander
snickered. "Well someone's hyper active imagination is working over
time..." He remarked, only snickering at the dark look from Lex.
Once
at the top of the stairs, the group moved around a corner, finding
themselves on a stretch of terrace lined with statues. The statues
weren't so much ugly as they were frightening in a mentally distrubed
nature, by the expressions on their faces.
"Well, ya don't find those in the Home Depot Garden section." Auron remarked with a rueful smirk.
Lex
paused, turning to look at his father wide eyed, blinking. Auron just
smiled with out humor. Lex shook his head and turned back.
Eire
was finally convinced to turn back and he shook his hed, clearing the
fog and removed the leash, handing it back to Aiyla. "Ye didn't have t'
choke me..." He muttered.
"And you didn't have to try to go after what ever was up here..." Aiyla replied.
Xander
and Nate moved to a short side path, where a gate was, leading to the
house. Nate took the gate and shook it, but it was locked firm. "Best
find another way in..." Xander muttered.
They'd just turned
from the gate when a the sound of a woman screaming came from the
house, everyone turned to look and it the scream was soon followed by
the sound of three or four gun shots.
"There's some one in there?!" Lex asked in a slightly hysterical tone.
"So it would seem." Auron said darkly, looking up at the house.
"Hey, there's a pool over 'ere!" Eire said from one spot. "An' I think there's a tunnel at the bottom..."
Xander decended the stairs, pulling a mini
maglit from his back pocket and shinned it into the tunnel. "Basement
area I think." Xander said, looking back up at the others.
"Better then anything else..." Chaos reasoned, coming down the stairs.
"Great, now we gotta get wet?" Aiyla muttered.
Eire snickered. "Shouldn't have worn leather." He said. Aiyla shoved him.
Xander climbed the rest of the way down, into the waist deep water and shivered. "Cold too..."
"oh even better." Lex muttered.
"We could send in scouting party." Aiyla suggested.
Auron shook his head. "If we go, we go together. Its no use to seperate now."
"Well lets give it a go then." Chaos said.
Aiyla
groaned but followed Nate down. Auron with Eire brought up the rear.
They made their way through the cold water, into the tunnel and along
the way. They'd just turned a corner when Lex stopped, something
brushing up against his leg under water. Xander noticed a slight trail
of bubbles. "There's something in the water..." Lex whispered, eyeing
the blacky liquid.
Chapter Nine
"Oh...this place is just FULL of surprises..." Lex muttered, moving toward the door out of hte bedroom, only to find it locked.
Aiyla
glanced around, turning on her flash light, which shinned off a mirror
in the corner. She noticed the frame around the mirror had odd symbols
carved into it and moved over to it. "Hey Lex...check this out..."
Aiyla said.
Lex turned back to the mirror and moved over to
her. Aiyla put out a hand to touch the frame, and as she did so, the
mirror swung inwards. There was a stair case going down. Aiyla and Lex
stared at it a moment. "You the worst thing about being in a house like
this?" Aiyla said softly.
"Hmm?" Lex answered.
"The
curosity..." Aiyla answered, Lex snorted softly, then turned on the two
way radio, to again hear everyone calling them. Aiyla did the same.
"We're fine!" She snapped over the radio. "We're in a...bed room...I'm
assuming right behind the study..." She told them.
Lex knew
what Aiyla meant by curosity and found himself stepping into the hall.
He paused, looking back at Aiyla who was rolling her eyes. "We're
absolutely fine..." She was saying.
"So far..." Lex muttered. Aiyla shot him a look. Lex nodded to the stairs going down.
Aiyla
smirked. "We're going to do some investigating... Oh don't hand me that
Nate...I'm perfectly capable of looking after myself...and Lex." Aiyla
said with a slight tone as she removed a gun from her holster, handing
Lex the flash light. "Look ,if you hear us scream, THEN you can come to
our rescue...Find a way into the bedroom behind the behind the
study..." She told them.
"That's the problem!" Came Eire's reply over the radio. "We're NOT finding a door!"
"Try the walls, they could be hidden..." Lex said.
Nate and Faal both immeditaely set to shoving
and pounding at the walls trying to find hidden doors. Chaos groaned
and her and Aruon both kept guard on their little group. "I have the
strongest urge to find a rope and tie us all together so no one else
can get lost..." she muttered softly to auron. "This is like a fun
house at the carnival... I hate those things..."
Auron snorted softly.
Aiyla and Lex slowly decended the stairs, Lex
shinned the flashlight around, the tunnel was old for sure. In the
corner, he spotted another three barrel shot gun. "Grab that." Aiyla
said, Lex picked it up, Aiyla holstered her own gun, took it from, felt
it out and began loading it. "This'll probably come in handy at some
point..." She said, cocking it.
Lex snorted and began
decending the next set of stairs. They came out in a tunnell and there
was a door. Lex approached it, it had a window sat into it. He glanced
in then gave a squeak. There was a man on the other side, busy
perparing something.
Aiyla appeared at his side and saw the
man, just as he walked out of sight of the window. Aiyla turned the
radio on again. "Hush! All of you!" She hissed. "There is some one else
in the house! A man, about 6 foot, dark hair, skinny, with a pointed
beard." She hissed.
"Professor Morton..." Lex hissed beside her. Aiyla turned and looked at him.
"How do you know that, Lex?" She asked.
Lex looked up at her. "Obed Morton...thats who owns the house..."
"Lex, how do you know?" Aiyla asked again. Lex's response sent a shiver through her.
"I don't know..." He muttered submissively with a shrug. Aiyla stared at him a long moment.
Considering
the tunnel was a dead in, Aiyla stepped back from the door then grabbed
Lex's arm. "Lets get back up stairs, Lex and see if we can't help the
others get us out of there..." she said softly, coaxing him with her.
Lex seemed lost in thought now and dutifully followed.
They
got back to the bed room, the mirror shutting behind them. Aiyla looked
around. She moved toward the door while Lex stood in the middle of the
room, looking around absently. Aiyla tried the door, but the lock held.
She stepped back, considering rather or not to blow the lock
off. She heard Lex turn off his radio behind her. "Aiyla..." Lex's
voice was soft and shakey. Aiyla turned to look at him. He looked just
as shakey as his voice. "This house...it's talking to me..." He
whispered.
Chapter Ten
Aiyla's eyebrow shot up and she moved back
toward him, laying the shot gun against the bed bedside them. "What do
you mean, it's talking to you?" She asked calmly.
"It's
talking to me...I can hear it whispering...it wants us to stay...it
thinks we'd make a nice family..." Lex hissed, eyes darting around the
room. Aiyla stared at him a moment, seeing how scared he was and pulled
her to him, hugging him. She turned her own radio back on.
"Don't suppose you've found that door yet?!" She snapped.
"Still looking, although Nate and Faal are on the verge o' makin' their own doors." Eire answered.
"Well damn it! We've got to get Lex out of here..." Aiyla snapped.
"Why?!" Came Auron's voice.
"He
says the house is talking to him..." Aiyla answered. "Look, go back
into the hall out side the study, I'm going to see if I can't get us
out to you through the door." Aiyla said, grabbing the shot gun. She
moved to the door of the bed room, pulling Lex behind her, sitting him
right behind her she turned back to the door, raised the shot gun and
fired a blast, blowing the a hole in the door where the lock was.
Then
she kicked the door open, taking the flash light from Lex, and his hand
and pulled him into a plush hall that had to be the second floor with
more bed rooms. Aiyla moved down the hall with Lex clinging to her
hand.
They moved toward an intersection and were crossing it
when a hand shot out, grabbing Lex's shoulder. Lex screamed, and Aiyla
spun around, gun aimed...
"Whoa! Whoa!" Eire held up both hands. "It's just us." He said, Aiyla spotted the others.
"Why didn't you say something?" Aiyla snarled.
Eire's eyebrow shot up. "We did say something...We called both yer names before I reached out t' stop ye."
Aiyla narrowed her eyes, thoughtful. Lex was standing beside her, hugging himself, staring up at the ceiling fearfully.
Faal brushed rather rudely past Eire and Aiyla
and pulled Lex into his arms, kissing his forehead. "Lex sweetheart...
are you alright?" he asked softly, but from the some what shakey tone
of his voice it was obvious he'd been near panic. "Stay beside me,
love... don't let go of my hand.. I don't think I could go through that
again without tearing this house apart...."
